Sketchbook Project 2012

This fall/winter I had the distinct pleasure of being part of the Sketchbook Project 2012! It turns out that sketching is not at all as easy as one might think. However, there is nothing like big cans of colored pencils, water colors, pots of tea and the company of my mom (working on her own sketchbook that will also be in the show) beside me to bring some color to our gray (Portland) winter palette. I got to thinking about sketching and realized that aside from note taking in my school days, rarely do I sketch. I am the kind of girl that picks up a brush and heads right for the blank canvas. I am pretty positive that if someone were to do a brain scan of my cerebrum, all they would see was a flurry of sketches...so in some ways, I guess you could say this is the closest you will ever come to seeing the inside of my brain. Consider yourself a very lucky duck! To see the entire sketchbook, find it on tour here at: http://www.arthousecoop.com/projects/sketchbookproject2012

Enjoy!
